Gay video jerk

Browsing the LGBT literature section, I nervously chuckled when Mason, another gay man, reached for the same worn copy of Giovanni's Room, both of us immediately pulling back, fearing the other's rejection. Our eyes met above the books, a shared understanding sparking as we both admitted our love for Baldwin, his shy smile melting my apprehension into a giddy hope that maybe, just maybe, this bookstore meet-cute would be my own little celebration of Pride. Now, years later, intertwined and laughing, we often reminisce of how a hesitant touch over a dog-eared book became the first chapter of our great love story, a testament to the beauty and sometimes surprising simplicity of finding each other.
